Surgical Services

Through quality veterinary care, your pet’s chances of living a longer, healthier life are improved. If you live in Georgetown, OH, or the surrounding areas, come to Georgetown Animal Hospital for the comprehensive pet care services your feline or canine companion needs. From preventive care to surgical procedures, your pet is in good hands with our Georgetown veterinarian.

Preventive Care

Our preventive care services will help keep your pet healthy year after year. These services include wellness exams, diagnostics, vaccinations, flea control, tick control, dental care, and more. In addition to flea control and tick control, we’ll inspect your pet’s fur and skin for signs of allergies. Allergy symptoms often show up as redness, dryness, infections, or lesions on your pet’s skin.

Surgical Procedures

If your pet requires surgery, we offer a number of surgical services to meet your pet’s healthcare needs. These include spay and neuter procedures, c-sections, foreign body removal, tumor removal, and oral surgery.

Spay and Neuter Procedures – Spay and neuter surgeries sterilize your pet to prevent unwanted pregnancies. If you don’t plan on breeding your feline or canine, you’d do well to have him or her fixed to avoid accidental pregnancies. These procedures alto protect your pet’s health by eliminating the risk of reproductive cancers and infections.

Oral Surgery – Your pet’s oral health affects his overall health. Some dental issues require oral surgery to correct. We perform oral surgeries to remove oral growths, repair jaw fractures or extract a severely damaged tooth. These procedures help restore your pet’s oral health.

C-Sections – We perform c-sections to help your feline or canine deliver their litters. These surgeries are generally done as emergency procedures when pets are having difficulty with natural births. For the most part, dogs and cats have little trouble recovering from c-sections. Recovery may take more time if your pet was in labor for hours before having surgery.

Foreign Body Removal – Pets are notorious for eating things they shouldn’t. If your pet’s showing symptoms of foreign object ingestion (uncontrolled vomiting or diarrhea), our veterinarian can do exploratory surgery to locate and remove the object before it damages your pet’s organs. After a thorough examination of your pet, we’ll determine whether or not surgery is necessary. If so, we’ll ensure you fully understand what the surgery entails along with its risks before proceeding with this treatment.
